Kabul International Airport, built by the USSR in 1960, serves as a key hub for flight connections to and from Afghanistan. In November 2023, flights mainly link to the UAE, Uzbekistan (offering direct routes to Herat and Kabul from Tashkent), and seasonal connections to Ankara. Additional sporadic direct flights operate from Istanbul, Islamabad, Jeddah, Teheran, Mashad, Delhi, Moscow, Riyadh, Urumqi, Dushanbe, and Almaty. Top airlines like Ariana, Kam Air, Turkish Airlines, Mahan Air, and Kish Air operate in and out of Kabul.

By land:
