Ala Myschik cave
Naryn • Kyrgyzstan • 2118 m
Cave Ala Mischuk is located in the crevice of the mountain Ala Mishchuk, which is in the western part of Naryn. The main cave has an impressive hatch 40 meters high. The side caverns extend to the east and west of the main room.
To reach the cave, you need to go west along Lenin Street, the main street of Naryn, passing the new campus of the Aga Khan University. Just before going west, you will see a small park on the south (left) side of the road. At the back of the park there is a metal pedestrian bridge that crosses a canal that runs along the southern edge of the park. If you look to the east of the bridge, you will see a dark line of the valley in which the cave is located. Once you cross the bridge, you will see a track jeep: follow it east until you reach the fence. Turn south (right) to the fence and follow the fence south, then east until the fence reaches the cliff. Climb the cliff above the barrier (not too steep), then follow the path to the cliff on the rock. As soon as you reach the crack, follow it. You need to crawl a little, but it's not so difficult. You climb rocks several times to reach the cave. The last path to the cave requires you to climb about two meters and slip between the pebble and the rock.
