Dalanzadgad airport

Dalanzadgad airport is an international airport located 6 kilometers northwest of the city center of Dalanzadgad, the capital of Umnugovi aimag in Mongolia. It sits at an elevation of 1,459 meters above sea level.

The airport building comprises three floors and was constructed after the dissolution of the Mongolian People's Republic. In 2007, it underwent a complete reconstruction and was equipped with state-of-the-art technology. However, it has never operated flights beyond Mongolia and has only one terminal. Since 2007, the new Mongolian airline, Tavan Tolgoi Airways, started operating flights to the largest Tavan-Tolgoi deposit in the Gobi Desert.

Although the airport is classified as international, it does not have regular flights beyond Mongolia. It is primarily used for regular flights to Ulaanbaatar on An-24 aircraft. Additionally, it serves as a gateway for some tourist routes to the Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park, located just 30 kilometers away from Dalanzadgad. In terms of passenger traffic, the airport ranks second in Mongolia.
