What is strictly prohibited to export from Mongolia
- When leaving Mongolia, tourists are prohibited or strictly restricted from exporting historical and cultural treasures protected by the state, including antiques, ancient artifacts, manuscripts, paintings, archaeological finds, paleontological objects, and elements of national heritage.
- It is prohibited to export rare and protected animals and plants, as well as any products made from them, such as skins, bones, horns, shells, feathers, seeds, and seedlings of protected species.
- Firearms and cold weapons, ammunition, explosives, and any hazardous materials are prohibited from export without official permission.
- Narcotics, psychotropic substances, and potent substances are strictly prohibited.
- The export of large sums of cash, as well as valuable items, requires mandatory declaration at customs
What can be exported from Mongolia with documents and caution
- Modern souvenirs, handicrafts, textiles, and clothing are permitted for export unless they are protected objects or part of the national heritage.
