Po-i-Kalyan is a famous architectural complex in the historic center of Bukhara and one of Uzbekistan’s main symbols. Its name means “At the Foot of the Great One.”

The complex includes the Kalyan Minaret, the Kalyan Mosque, and the Miri-Arab Madrasah. The main attraction is the Kalyan Minaret, which stands about 45 meters tall, was built in the 12th century, and is decorated with fired-brick ornaments.

Po-i-Kalyan is an important part of Bukhara’s cultural heritage and serves as a reminder of the city’s rich history along the Great Silk Road.
