Your Journey

From Kochkor to Kumdu Suu Jailoo – Journey to the Heart of Song Kul

1  June - 30  September

In the morning, we leave Kochkor and drive through the dry gorge of Djon Aryk before turning into the Tolok Valley, where striking red mountains blend beautifully with the lush green pastures. The road gradually climbs toward the Kalmak Ashu Pass (3,470 m), offering stunning views along the way.

From the pass, we take a short walk to a nearby peak or viewpoint overlooking the deep blue expanse of Song Kul Lake, spread out below like a mirror in the mountains. We then continue our journey by vehicle, following the southern shore of the lake, where scattered yurt camps dot the landscape.

By late afternoon, we reach the Kumdu Suu jailoo, located on the southeastern shore of Song Kul. Upon arrival, we are warmly welcomed by our hosts. Enjoy a traditional Kyrgyz dinner and spend the night in a cozy yurt surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the high pastures. (Altitude: 3,090 m)
