Museum of musical instruments Gurminj

The Gurminj's museum of Musical Instruments situated in the center of Dushanbe is open since 1990 on the basis of a private collection Gurminj Zavkibekov (1929-2003) gifted folk artist. The special value of the collection is the most beautiful Kashgar Setar, who encrusted with ivory. The oldest setar is about 300 years old. Also in the other rooms are located in other departments devoted to clothing, household goods and household items, which are more than 400-500 years old. Today the museum is managed by Pamiri musicians who are ready to play some songs of Pamir. The museum is located at Bokhtar street 23, in Dushanbe.
