Samye Monastery is located in Tibet, in the Dratang district, on the banks of the Bramaputra River. This is the first Buddhist monastery built in Tibet in the 8th century. It is considered one of the most significant spiritual centers in the region and is a holy place for Buddhists.

The monastery was founded in 779 by the great Indian master Padmasambhava (also known as Guru Rinpoche) along with the Tibetan king Trisong Detsen. It played a key role in the development of Buddhism in Tibet and became a center of Buddhist learning and practice.

One of the unique features of Samye Monastery is its architecture. It was built in the shape of a mandala, symbolizing the cosmic geometry of the universe, making it especially important for Buddhist practices and rituals.

Inside the monastery you will find various temples, sacred halls and monastic quarters. Among them, unique frescoes and statues of Buddhas, bodhisattvas and other saints stand out. Every element of the monastery is imbued with the spirit of ancient teachings and spiritual practice.

Samye Monastery remains an important place of worship and pilgrimage for Buddhists from all over the world. Its beauty, historical significance and spiritual grandeur attract many believers and truth seekers who come here to immerse themselves in the spiritual atmosphere and walk their path of enlightenment.
