The "Kyrghyz-Ata" nature park is located in the basin of the river of the same name, descending from the northern slope of the Kichik-Alai ridge, at a distance of about 40 km from the town of Osh along the road leading to the village of Iski-Naukat. On all sides the valley is surrounded by amazingly beautiful peaks of the Kichik-Alai ridges covered with snow caps. The rocks are composed of limestone with outcrops of multicolored marble. The total area is 11,172 hectares. The "Kirghiz-Ata" National Nature Park was established on March 18, 1992 in the Naukatsky District of the Osh region, in order to preserve the precious and unique complex of juniper forests, which has special geobotanical and faunistic value, as well as to develop methods and methods of environmental protection, functional management of nature and cultivation in the juniper area.
