KarakalpakstanUzbekistan • 80 m

The National Museum of Arts named after I. V. Savitsky, located in Nukus, is one of the largest museums in Uzbekistan. The museum's collection is recognized as the second in the world in terms of importance and volume among the collections of works of the Russian avant-garde, as well as the best collection of art in the Asian region.
The museum is a treasure which illustrates the cultural periods of the 3rd century BC. There are elements of the material and artistic culture of ancient Khorezm, including the folk and applied art of the Karakalpaks, a small once semi-nomadic ethnic group with a primordial history and an original culture. The Fine Arts section of the museum is represented by contemporary art from Uzbekistan and the Russian avant-garde of the 1920s-30s of the twentieth century.
