With an area of 185 square kilometers, this majestic lake, surrounded by the Altai Mountains, reaches an altitude of 2,080 meters. The legendary Soum Tolbo stands at its southern end. He is also the witness of a striking history, the Battle of Tolbo Lake, where 160 Mongol-Soviet soldiers bravely confronted a disproportionate force of 2,400 white Russian soldiers during the People's Revolution of 1921. Nomad's Land were brilliant organising a week tour for 4 friends and myself. Fabien really listened to what we wanted. No cities, beautiful nature, some hikes and seeing the people. The tour he designed couldn't have been better. Our guide Alex was incredibly knowledgeable about Krygyzstan, he was relaxed and nothing was ever a problem. We loved our holiday, learned a lot and can't recommend this company enough.

    Lynsay F

Thanks to the Nomad's land agency, we were able to discover Kyrgyzstan off the beaten track. We stayed in traditional guesthouses and in yurt camps in the middle of grandiose landscapes. But above all we met very welcoming people, who shared with us their culture and their way of living in harmony with nature.
